    I bought the base line JK with the intention of upgrading it myself. One of the biggest issues that I ran into was the lack of a center console with storage and an arm rest as my jeep came equipped with the mini console.

    After looking for a remedy for my console I felt that the Tuffy full metal console would be the perfect fit. I wanted security as I leave my windows out and half doors on for 4 to 6 months of the year. I'll list highlights below:

    1. This thing gives you much more storage than the original full console per my understanding.
    2. The build quality is GREAT.
    3. The lock is super sturdy. I want to say the latch is 1/4 steel and the bar that it latches to is welded directly to the console interior.
    4. There is an interior power outlet to utilize if you want to wire it in.
    5. It has a bracket to mount your CB / HAM radio to if you so desire.
    6. The slate gray matches my interior very well.

    The one thin g that threw me off at first was the height of the console. I drive a 6 speed and it felt a little awkward at first going through the gears. I did adjust pretty quickly though.

    This item is well worth the money spent to me. The way I looked at it was that this is an item I use every day. Be it just as an arm rest or to lock up valuables while I'm out hiking and not worry about anyone being able to easily access my belongings. You can never really keep a thief out if they want to get in but you can make it so difficult for them that they choose a new and easier target and that is exactly what I feel the Tuffy Full Console does for my Jeep.
